Restaurant Reviewed: Canoe Brew Club (www.canoepub.com), 450 Swift St Victoria, BC

Items Ordered: Appetizer – GF Salt & Pepper Wings, Main: GF Mussels, To Drink: Prosecco

This fantastically located restaurant is becoming a fast favorite for my boyfriend and I whenever we stop into town. We have enjoyed the spacious interior as well as the oversized patio located on the pier overlooking the ocean and downtown Victoria. The nice thing about Canoe is that they offer both a ‘regular’ menu and a gluten free menu for those interested. The gluten free salt and pepper wings are good but made even better with a side of hot sauce. The mussels were delicious and came with both chorizo and gluten free garlic bread to sop of all of the tasty sauces. Both dishes were perfect for two to share. I hope you enjoy!

Canoe

This delightful pub is reminiscent of a quaint UK cottage in the countryside. The exterior grounds are beautifully maintained and kids and dogs are welcome on one of the large patio areas. We had the gluten free spinach dip with house made corn tortilla chips to start and while good, I found the dip to be a bit to cheesy for my liking. For mains we shared the BBQ chicken pizza. It was a good gluten free crust and the BBQ sauce made for a nice tangy pizza! All in all a great afternoon was had. If you haven’t already been then pick an afternoon to go. Enjoy!
