Vocal for Local: Sweetly Raw

Did you know there’s a National Eggnog Month? Well if you didn’t, then you do now! And in order to celebrate I want to share a delicious recipe from one of my Vocal for Local favourites Sweetly Raw Desserts.

Raw Vegan Eggnog Truffles

Makes 10


2 tablespoons melted coconut butter

2 tablespoons melted coconut oil

2 tablespoons brown rice syrup*

4 teaspoons coconut flour

1/4 teaspoon each: cinnamon, fresh nutmeg, vanilla extract

4 teaspoons hot water

Whisk all ingredients, EXCEPT the water, together in a bowl set in another bowl of hot water to keep everything warm and fluid.  Now add the water one teaspoon at a time, whisking in between. The mixture should come together and be really smooth. If not add 1/2 – 1 teaspoon more water. Place into the fridge for at least 5 hours or until it has firmed up. Roll it into 10 balls and place in the freezer while melting the chocolate.


1 cup of chocolate of choice (you can keep it raw or vegan)

1 teaspoon melted coconut oil

Melt the chocolate and coconut oil. Dip each truffle into the chocolate and then set onto a parchment paper lined tray. Set in the fridge. Drizzle more chocolate across the top if desired.

*Or you can do clear agave which will make them a bit sweeter.
